The University of Suffolk, formerly University Campus Suffolk, is based in Ipswich and is home to just under 5,000 students from almost 70 different countries.
Founded in 2007, the University offer a wide ranging portfolio of courses across its Arts, Business and Applied Social Science and Health and Science faculties. The Arts, Business and Applied Social Science faculty comprises of four departments: Art and Humanities; Children, Young People & Education, Psychology, Sociology & Social Work and Suffolk Business School. The Applied Social Science and Health faculty is comprised of Health Studies, Nursing Studies and Science & Technology.
94.4 per cent of Suffolk undergraduates were in work or further study after six months following the 2015 Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey.
The University of Suffolk has a dedicated Student Services team who are able to help with all aspects of student life. There are free English language and academic writing classes available to all students, including one-to-one consultation sessions, and new international students will be assigned an older mentor to guide them through the first few months of Suffolk life.
The Student Services department also arrange events to address and raise awareness of a diverse range of topics, inspiring and supporting students with their academic, personal and professional progression.
Whether you want to live in halls of residence or in a shared house off campus, the University of Suffolk can recommend accommodation to suit a range of needs and budgets.
Athena Hall is the on-campus halls of residence in Ipswich, close to the Waterfront and James Hehir buildings. Local shops and amenities are close by and the town centre is just a ten minute walk away. Athena Hall houses almost 600 students and offers a mixture of flats and studio rooms.
The University of Suffolk is based in Ipswich and the learning network located across Suffolk and the local area provides an ideal base to explore the beautiful surroundings of this exciting county. Suffolk is known for its hospitable and friendly nature and the area provides a mixture of dynamic urban centres, coastal resorts and historic market towns.
Packed with shops, independent boutiques, restaurants, pubs and cafes, Ipswich also benefits from being just over an hour from London, with excellent road, rail and air links to the rest of the UK and overseas.
