19 June 2019

The 2020 QS World University Rankings were published today, with 84 UK universities featuring in the top 1,000.

The University of Oxford were one of the big UK winners as they moved into fourth position in the esteemed table, narrowly seeing off competition from Oxbridge rival the University of Cambridge (7th). Other UK universities in the top 20 included University College London (8th), Imperial College London (9th) and the University of Edinburgh (20th).

The QS rankings are regarded as the most highly respected of the various international league tables. Methodology is based on employer and academic reputation, class sizes, research output and international staff and students numbers.
